Redline Plastics History

Redline Plastics can trace its roots in Manitowoc, WI back to 1922 when it was known as Dow Canvas, specializing in the design and manufacturing of products for the tent and awning industry. In 1975, the Webster family acquired Dow Canvas, steering the company’s growth toward becoming a prominent player in marine covers and powersports covers and accessories. As expansion persisted, Dow Canvas underwent a rebranding in 1996, becoming Dowco. The company further diversified in 2016 with the acquisition of Premier Plastics, venturing into plastics production.

In 2018, the Webster family made a strategic move by selling the Dowco Marine division, paving the way for a fresh start for the powersports and plastics businesses under the new identity of Redline Plastics. This decision allowed us to channel our resources and efforts into bolstering our capabilities in the plastics manufacturing industry, while still upholding our legacy in the powersports market.

From 2018 to 2023, Redline experienced substantial growth in rotational molding capacity and expanded its plastics production capability. In a strategic move to broaden our presence, Redline Plastics acquired an additional production facility in Hartwell, Georgia. This acquisition not only increased our rotational molding capacity but also positioned us advantageously in the Southeast, opening new doors with added compression molding expertise and equipment.

As of today, Redline Plastics stands as a leader in manufacturing across diverse industries, with a primary focus on rotational molding of plastic products and components. Moreover, our global distribution network ensures the reach of our aftermarket powersports products, which include Dowco Powersports® motorcycle, ATV & UTV covers, Willie & Max® saddlebags and luggage, along with a comprehensive range of roofs, windshields, and accessories for the ATV/UTV market.
