Redline Plastics History

Redline Plastics traces its history in Manitowoc to 1922 with Dow Canvas, designing and manufacturing products for the tent and awning industry. In 1975, the Webster family purchased Dow Canvas and went on to grow the company as a leader in marine covers and powersports covers and accessories. As growth continued, Dow Canvas was re-branded as Dowco in 1996. The company expanded its capabilities into plastics production in 2016 with the purchase of Premier Plastics.

In 2018, the Webster family sold the Dowco Marine division of the company and forged a new beginning for the powersports and plastics businesses under the new brand of Redline Plastics. This has allowed us to focus our resources and efforts toward growing our ability to serve the plastics manufacturing industry while retaining our heritage in the powersports market.

From 2018 through 2023, we saw tremendous growth in our rotational molding capacity as well as adding additional plastics production capability. Seeking to expand our footprint, Redline Plastics purchased an additional production facility in Hartwell, Georgia. This addition provides us with more rotational molding capacity, a fantastic location in the Southeast, and new opportunities through compression molding expertise and equipment.

Today, Redline Plastics is a leader in manufacturing for a wide variety of industries with an emphasis on rotational molding of plastic products and components. In addition, we have worldwide distribution for our aftermarket powersports products, including Dowco Powersports ® motorcycle, ATV & UTV covers, and Willie & Max ® saddlebags and luggage, and a range of roofs, windshields, and accessories for the ATV/UTV market.

We don’t have a boring, “traditional” mission statement at Redline. Instead, we have fourteen cultural behaviors that help us stay focused on who we are and how we treat our teammates and our customers. We found that focusing on behaviors instead of “corporate speak” statements helps us reinforce our culture. They’re actionable, upfront, and more fun – just like us!
