Case Study: Aqua Gloves Prototype Development
How Redline Plastics Said “Yes” When Others Wouldn’t
Challenges
Aqua Gloves faced a significant uphill battle: multiple manufacturers had already declined the project due to its complexity, tight timeline, and lack of
guaranteed production volume. With a looming national television appearance on Shark Tank, the pressure was immense. The product was still in its early stages, requiring development work and rapid execution under a high-visibility spotlight. For many manufacturers, the risks outweighed the rewards — the compressed schedule introduced timeline uncertainty, the prototype-only engagement limited immediate revenue potential, and the technical development required added layers of complexity. Simply put, most saw risk where Redline ultimately saw opportunity.

Solutions

Redline Plastics said yes because we operate with a relationship-first mindset. While others focused on short-term revenue and risk mitigation, we focused on the entrepreneur behind the idea. We were willing to invest time, engineering resources, and expertise before there was guaranteed production volume because we believe innovation deserves a chance. Our culture is built around backing bold thinkers and solving complex challenges others avoid. Instead of being deterred by timeline
pressure and development hurdles, we leaned in — collaborating closely on design refinement, engineering a functional prototype, and moving with urgency to meet the national television deadline. The result was a production-ready prototype delivered on time for Aqua Gloves’ appearance on Shark Tank, proving that when it comes to partnership, Redline goes further than most manufacturers are willing to go.
The Results
With a functional prototype in hand, Aqua Gloves confidently stepped onto the stage of Shark Tank and presented their product to a national audience. The prototype transformed their idea from concept to reality — something tangible, demonstrable, and investment-ready. It allowed them to showcase not just a vision, but a working product built to perform under pressure.
While Redline Plastics was not ultimately selected as the long-term production supplier, it was simply because our capabilities were not the best fit for manufacturing the Aqua Glove at scale. That outcome never changed our purpose for getting involved.
The priority was impact — helping an entrepreneur capitalize on a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. For Redline, the relationship and the success of the project mattered far more than the transaction itself.
What This Proves
✔ Redline backs entrepreneurs when others hesitate
✔ Redline solves complex problems others avoid
✔ Redline invests time and expertise before revenue is guaranteed
✔ Redline goes further than the typical manufacturing partner
At Redline, success isn’t defined solely by production contracts — it’s defined by showing up, delivering under pressure, and helping innovators move forward.
