EXPERTOS
With two hydraulic compression molding presses, Redline can mold your thermoset parts to your required standards. Our technology allows us to produce both Bulk Molding Compound and Sheet Molding Compound thermoset plastic parts made with fiberglass-reinforced polyester materials. Our SMC and BMC parts are produced for a variety of industries, with a focus on the mass transportation and rail industries. Other applications include electrical insulating parts, and high-strength composite structures made of carbon fiber.
Compression molding is a widely utilized manufacturing process for a variety of polymer materials, including thermosets, thermoplastics, elastomers, and natural rubbers. It is known for its ability to produce high-volume, dimensionally precise, and durable parts that exhibit excellent temperature resistance and surface quality.
Applications
The applications of compression molding span across several industries, encompassing mass transportation, aerospace, defense, electrical, athletic equipment, medical, powersports, personal watercraft, automotive, trucking, and appliance sectors. For instance, electrical components manufactured through compression molding include capacitor covers, circuit breaker housings, connectors, fuse boxes, lighting assemblies, meter bases, switch housings, terminal blocks, battery covers, gas meter parts, and seal rings, serving a wide array of industries.
Materiales
A diverse range of materials is employed in compression molding, including polyester, vinyl ester, phenolic, melamine, epoxy, DAP, polyurethane, HDPE, MDPE, polypropylene, and PTFE. These materials can be reinforced with additives such as glass fiber or carbon fiber to enhance strength. They are commonly utilized in forms like bulk molding compound (BMC) or sheet molding compound (SMC).
