The primary result expected from this position is to trim, flame, and deburr plastic parts. The Plastics Trimmer will monitor the quality of the plastic parts after they are molded to ensure there are no defects and trim the plastics parts to quality standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Inspects and reviews plastic parts right after they are molded
- Uses a variety of hand tools and power equipment to meet part standards
- Demonstrates the proper usage and safety of hand tools
- Properly identifies and prevents defective parts from being used
- Ensures that parts are in accordance with customer and quality specifications, while maintaining an appropriate production pace

PREFERRED and REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred
Experience and/or Training: Prior rotational molding experience preferred
Licenses/Certificates: No requirements
Technology/Computer Equipment: Ability to utilize computer platforms to access work instructions
PHYSICAL and MENTAL DEMANDS:
- This position is frequently required to stand and walk
- It is necessary for this position to occasionally climb stairs throughout the day
- Occasional stooping, bending, squatting, crouching, or reaching above the shoulders may be required
- 10 to 20 lbs. frequent lifting
- 20 to 40 lbs. occasional lifting
- Manual dexterity is required to perform normal day to day functions
- Must always demonstrate patience in order to successfully work through frustrating challenges and present oneself in a calm professional manner
- Must have the ability to work with and around others
- Ability to wear appropriate personal protective equipment

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
The main working environment for this position is the standard manufacturing plant environment.
The plant environment is climate controlled in some areas, however, may include exposure to heat, cold, noise and odors. Personal protective equipment is required in appropriate areas. There may also be intermittent exposure to fumes, moving mechanical parts and tool vibration.
